"Sar-ply sar-ply!"

Finally got my lazy ass up to blog abt the 'finale' of the beauty pageant....

Like what I have said before, I'm firmly grounded and knew I dun stand a chance to win. The process itself was rather fun, though I didn't make any friends during this competition, many a times I could sensed this invisible status barricade dividing the doctors from the rest of the contestants esp the nurses. Si bei elitist....

As expected lah the top 2 guys were doctors, was it any coincidence that the chairman of this D & D event is a professor from the same deparment? Hmm, like what Sherlock Holmes would always say, "Elementary, Watson."

The second runner up was definitely a surprise for all of us, it was a Patient Care Assistant from the Operating Theatre. I always thought that one of the fellow nurse would stand a chance. I guess they just needed one person to fill up the slot in the top 3.

Well, yours truly didn't go home empty handed, I actually bagged the Talent award! Ha ha, I was surprised myself. There was only one award for Talent unlike Mr/Miss Personality, which meant that I beat 15 others, heh heh. I performed a musical with one of the female contestant, a parody of the Moulin Rouge scene where Ewan McGregor serenades Nicole Kidman. I did a Ah Lian & Ah Beng version, I guessed the audience and judges found it amusing and liked it.... :) I brought home a nice little glass trophy, a sash and $300 tangs voucher.

I must add that the female contestant that I was paired with for the musical was a nightmare to work with. Pushy, bossy, narcissistic and a selfish brat. She actually thought that she had a chance at the top 3, no looks besides the point, no personality at all. She had some juvenile experience in drama and thought that her performance would bring the house down, hah with her weight maybe. I almost wanted to give up abt 5 days before the contest but told myself to tahan and just focus on having fun. Well guess who is having the last laugh now , beeee....yach..
