As expected, Brokeback Mountain got the nods for best picture, director and actor etc. The film is not shown here yet so I can't comment. Films like this tend to be overhyped, one good example is Stanley Kwan's Lan Yu.

Another film Crash which was nominated for best picture, was one of my favourite films from 2005. Read abt my thoughts on it in this link. I'm rooting for this film, infact it has got quite a few nominations, best picture, best director, best supporting actor and best screenplay.

Surprised that Sin City wasn't even nominated in the technical categories, thought it was an awesome adaptation. Even Revenge Of The Sith is nowhere to be seen.

All will be revealed on March 5th (or maybe 6th Singapore time).
